In addition to German, the main language of instruction - which is studied and spoken by 130 million people worldwide as their mother language or as a second language; in addition, learnt by 289 million people as a foreign language - the school also offers courses in Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Latin plus corresponding German baccalaureate examinations in these languages. Natural science courses are taught in a high proportion of hours using state-of-the art teaching material and technologies. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including sorts of ball games, chess games, gymnastics, swimming, martial arts, parkour, climbing, horse riding etc. The school cooperates with the German Bundesliga giant, Borussia Dortmund Football Club (BVB) and remains its official and exclusive “BVB Evonik Football Academy School Partner" in China.
