Named after the owner’s “famous” dogs Baozi and Man Tou – no, really – B&M is a cute pet boarding business with three Shanghai locations. This location is near international schools BISS, WISS, and SAS. Owner, Mr. Golden Chen is like the friendly, Taipei-born uncle you never knew you had. He and his wife opened B&M back in 2016 partly due to seeing an opportunity within the market, but also due to frustration at the lack of quality Shanghai pet boarding services. From the reception, it gives the impression of being some kind of pet spa due to its funky paw-shaped desk and namaste vibe. Here the animals enjoy underfloor heating, the air is filtered every 20 minutes or so (to prevent a build-up of doggie smells), and you are required to provide your own pet food. Despite being geared more towards dogs, Golden also welcomes cats, and… rabbits, budgies, turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters… you see where we’re going with this. If your pet comes with a cage, it’s no problem. Aside from boarding, there is also dog training, grooming, and even classes in dog training for kids!
